阪神の金本知憲選手（４４）が９月１２日、
兵庫県西宮市のホテルで記者会見し、
プロ２１年目の今季限りでの現役引退を表明しました。
１４９２試合連続フルイニング出場の世界記録を持ち
「鉄人」の金本選手は
「限界かなという思いもあるし、若手に切り替わる中で、
いい時のパフォーマンスが出せない
自分がいるのも肩身が狭いというのもあった」と決断の理由を話しました。
２１年間、お疲れ様でした。
